Hey ho, subject combination selections begin on monday!

One question. How do we select subjects if our APRs are not released yet? AND my isp report hasn't been factored into my gpa as well. And there is also the chance that Captain Moderation will show up and save the day.

Can you see what i see?

Yesterday i brought a potato to class for aboslutely no reason at all, apart from the fact that the humble potato has earned itself the title of Most Random Vegetable.

First i put it on niuyi's table.

niuyi: 怎么我的桌上有个马零薯?

Words fail me.

Then i koped it back and passed it around class. Everyone signed their name on it. After chinese lesson we trooped to the staff room and called eddie out and gave him the potato. He promptly burst out laughing and said he was going home to eat it.

My life is now less average.
---------------------------------------------

Today marks the END of NUS-RI. And ISP.

No wait. ISP not over, must still give dr koh the stupid report. nvm.

During our presentation today in NUS, Dr Zhao thought we did exceptionally well despite all our stumbling and aaron's extremely fail inpromptu presentation. The reason being she thought we were doing stuff that was waay above our level and hence decided to ignore all the little errors.

I don't know whether to feel honored or ashamed about this.

Aaron had a very interesting sms conversation with mish today while on the bus. For full details head on to his blog.

Yet another episode in the epic battles that is yahoo vs google.

I Like...

Google: i like taping my thumbs to my hands to see what it would be like to be a dinosaur

Yahoo: i like to move it

Google wins hands down!

Today i went to watch Surrogates. Though it was a particularly crappy film (nowhere near max-payne-crappy) it did leave behind some deep impressions on me about the state of humanity.

The movie was about how people use robotic surrogate versions of themselves to go about their daily lives. These surrogates' outside appearance can be easily modified so it becomes extremely hard to tell how the surrogate operator actually looks like.

This brings to question of the various facades modern people put on everyday like masks. Even as students we do have a very shallow exterior that often hides our true personalities and intention. Do we really know who our friends are? Do they really know who you are?

Do YOU even know who you are?

The last scene where all the surrogates are remotely disabled and everyone on the streets just simultaneously collapses, while the fleshy Bruce Willis walks through the dead city was particularly thought provoking.

How do you intend to keep yourself human in a progressively inhuman world?

While counting change today, i have no idea how i instantly knew $2.25 is 1.5 squared.

What a pity such mathematical prowess did not exhibit itself during today maths paper. Good bye beautiful 3.6 GPA.

Tomorrow is bio paper, which i have most of my maths mugging time on (explains a lot, hey?). And i do not intend to fail it. Yet i still don't know the difference between a horizontal cell and an amacrine cell. Oh noes.

Can anyone define metabolism off the tips of his fingers? I sincerely doubt it. Neither can i.

After EOYs, i'm going to treat myself by splurging all the remaining cash in my wallet on the wierdest things i can find in art friend or bugis junction.

Post number 222!

There are only 2 more exams left. 3, if you count maths as paper 1 and paper 2.

But what the hey, i'm already prepped for maths. Its bio i have a problem with now.

Not because i don't know enough. On the contrary, i know too much, and now i must know what i'm not supposed to know.

Has your mind exploded yet?

I mean its nice that EOYs are RP standard so no need to mug so much, but its a chore to limit how much detail you can pump into your answers and what things you cannot include.

My mind is going to explode.

I was listening to collide by howie day, and halfway through the chorus this thought flashed into my mind.

"Yes, you and I may collide, but if we don't collide in the correct orientation or with kinetic energy greater than or equal to the activation energy then there will be no chemistry between us."

I am a nerd.

I went to my cousin's house yesterday to play Halo3 matchmaking.

AND HALO 3: ODST.

HALO 3 ODST IS THE AWESOMEPWNASS!!!

All thanks to the well recieved return of the halo ce pistol, now instant killing anything with a headshot or 2, and the original healthbar system, which make its so much easier to tell if you're going to on your next Rambo charge. You can also carry 4 of each nade now, which is super convenient when you need to bash your way through legendary chieftains and hunters.

Matchmaking was a little more disappointing. I got got by at least 40 different peple from all over the world in halo. I have extreme dislike for the halo 3 pistol.

Tomorrow is geog and physics. Then one more day of happiness before maths and bio.

Then 2 weeks of happiness until chinese 0 lvls.

Stupid chem EOYs today.

Stupid crossword puzzle. Who the hell decided to put a crossword puzzle into a CHEM paper!!

"aluminium does not rust as easily as iron because it forms a/an _______ layer on its surface."

I tried impermeable, unreactive and amphoteric (yes, even though it doesn;t make sense)

And you know what's the answer?

IMPERVIOUS.

What the tuck! Who the tuck describes an oxide layer as "impervious"? This is freaking chemistry dammit! Which freaking lit teacher set this bloody question?!

RAWR. I'm very pissed today. Physics and geog on tuesday should be less retarded i hope.

Our new Miss Singapore World has been selected: Pilar Arlando!

To quote her:

"I do not have any convictions or criminal records I enjoy travelling, baking and participating in various sports activities. I’m a good girl."

What an epic suan. And on national media too.

Yesterday i somehow managed to squish a baby lizard flat under one of my dumbbells by accident. Ooops.

Someone once told me that Final destination 4 is not enjoyable, a waste of time and not worth watching.

I watched it anyway, wasted my time, and didn't enjoy it. Bleh.

I mean, seriously, how is it possible to die by getting your butt sucked onto a pool vent while obeying the laws of physics at the same time?
I watched it anyway

Today i wento visit wai choong in hospital.

Apparently his lung collapsed on wednesday or thursday and martin and ewan abandoned him at the neighborhood clinic before he was sent to KK.

So he is now in hospital with various tubes attached to his body and no way of relieving himself when he needs to pee because he is not allowed to leave his bed. I imagine catheters would hurt.

Ewan and i also had a very enriching conversation with dr koh about the meaning of life and we managed to reach the consensus that life is meaningless. I look forward to continuing that discussion with them.

It is now only 7 more days to EOYs. I might consider skipping archery this sunday.

to quote mr kenneth kwok:

"Research has actually shown that moving house is one of the most stressful life events, right up there with divorce and bereavement. I can totally understand why ... but I have survived! Hoorah! P/S: Shalom Movers is highly recommended!"

I suppose the only way you can make that comparison is to experience all 3?

I think i shall try an experiment during my university years.

Immediately after i leave NS, i shall shave my head completely bald. Then i shall grow it out for one entire year without a haircut. I wonder what i will look like.

I also wonder if this will directly affect the chances of me getting a girlfriend during that time period.

Its official.

Here are the generic spam answers to almost any science RA 1mark question.

Biology: "To conserve energy and resources"
Chemistry: "It is energetically favourable"
Physics: "Because energy is conserved"

Such a pity we can't do this for humans or languages or everybody will be getting straight 4.0s.

I hate sunburns. I don't really care about the pain, but its the shedding i can't stand. ARRRRGH.

scratchscratch.

Today there was archery lesson again, and mish didnt go cos she was "too incapacitated". About the only things intersting was that the coach took vids of our shooting, and we got to fire several arrows at once. 2 arrow spray!

scratchscratch.

CLE poster is due 3 days ago! And i still have no idea how to begin!

I have taken a liking to pelting zombies with plant material.

I got my music exam results today.

Surprisingly enough, i passed. Even though i messed up 2 of my 3 pieces and completely flunked aural. I guess it really is impossible for anyone to fail a grade 2 exam.

Some interesting bits:

"A fluent start, but distinctly quiet, thus not putting across musical personality through."

"Prepared, but quite quiet"

Aural: " Timing of [piece] A is incorrect"
no surprises there.

I think a lot of the examiner's comments can be collectively summarised into "i cannot grade you if i can't hear anything."
